One on One: End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller and Former FEC Chair Ellen Weintraub

Watch their conversation to learn about why we need better campaign finance laws and more enforcement from regulators to clean up our government.

End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller is having a series of conversations with leaders fighting against corruption and money in politics, and advocating for voting rights. First up: Former Federal Election Commission (FEC) Chair Ellen Weintraub, who President Trump fired just 11 days after he returned to office because of her fierce advocacy for enforcing campaign finance laws.

Weintraub, who served on the FEC from 2002 to 2025 and was Chair four times, is one of the nation’s foremost experts on campaign finance and election laws. Throughout her tenure, she was a leading advocate for strong enforcement and full transparency in political spending. Weintraub consistently sounded the alarm about the threats posed by corporate and dark money — and how they open the door to foreign influence in our elections. She believes strong campaign finance laws and enforcement are essential to preventing corruption and restoring faith in government.
