I’ve been a long-time donor to the SPLC. The causes they’ve taken on from the horrific church bombing that killed little black girls to investigating hate groups is to be lauded. If they’ve paid informants to help in this worthy cause, it’s fine by me. No fraud as far as I’m concerned as a donor.
MAGA voters are thrilled to vote against immigrants. MAGA voters are unable to articulate more profound damaging results of immigration policy ( Florida student reading ability ranks 35th compared to other states) they are not concerned with cost details of Alligator Alcatraz nor the fact that dysfunctional immigration is harmful to GDP. Immigration policy that benefits immigrants and employers in the USA makes more sense to me. Congress has ignored this broken system for as long as foreign workers have found employment in the US. FIX IT by creating employment legislation where everybody profits.

I feel like "cynical" is the wrong word here - "The GOP remains batshit-crazy and horrifyingly racist" might sum up their behavior better.
