To be honest, while I find the big box store shopping to now be egregious, I did not always feel that way. I did not give the impact of my choices much thought. I had not considered the effects on communities housing these warehouses had. In my county, in my general area, Oakley, CA there is a huge Amazon fulfillment center. I was astounded at its size, but still never thought about impact on such things as housing, and initially thought it might be good as we have little viable jobs that would allow people to support themselves, and take vehicles off the road to mitigate commute times for folks by not having to drive to commerce centers. This article has given me pause, so, thank you! Just more reason to keep the adjustments I have made to my purchasing habits, and weigh which is more important. Ease of purchase or preserve community well being. Again, thank you!

I am not an online shopper Definitely NOT an amazon shopper. On occasion I will shop online elsewhere but not on amazon, walmart, home depot or any big business. I live in Palm Desert for quite a while now. I am willing to help when I can if you tell me how to help?? I like your examples you spoke about. "If they contribute or donate then they cannot vote for a couple of years." That is great. They would probably contribute under the table, so no-one knows. Anyways, Democracy has my email if I can be of any help.
